Well, I gave it a try. Although I already knew it would't be good enough. 100-400 with 2.0 III, at 720mm the following result:



Some CS5 work was needed here.

Thanks! No without extender. The 2.0 III creates so much quality loss on a 100-400, the range is amazing, but sharpness.... say good by to it. You really need a prime for extenders.
These shots are with the 100-400 at 400mm with some cropping.
