A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 747-400 freighter, registration 9M-MPR performing flight MH-6123 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia),
was climbing through about 700 feet AGL out of Amsterdam's runway 18L when a loud thumb was heard in the cockpit and the stick shaker activated continuously as result of an erroneous left hand airspeed reading (captain side).

The crew levelled off at FL100, entered a holding to dump fuel, returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 18R about 80 minutes after departure and taxied directly to the apron.

A postflight inspection revealed a number of bird strikes, a bird had penetrated the left hand side of the nose cone, the right hand angle of attack sensor had been taken out.

Given the altitude and hole-size, it wouldn't surprise me, they were geese...

Quite a few of these birds moving about lately over the Netherlands...
