Incident: KLM B737 at Amsterdam on Jan 23rd 2012, overheated brakes
A KLM Boeing 737-700, registration PH-BGI performing flight KL-1581 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Athens (Greece) with 137 people on board, was climbing out of of Amsterdam's runway 24 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet reporting overheated brakes and decided to return to Amsterdam. While on final approach to Amsterdam's runway 27 the crew reported the brakes indication had ceased and a normal landing was to be expected. The aircraft landed safely on runway 27 about 25 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration PH-BGH reached Athens with a delay of 90 minutes.
PH-CDE / CND605 is still holding over SPY, now 1:30 hrs after departure. It took off at 14:32. Maybe just burning fuel to get below max landing weight?
