IAM callsign Italian Air Force

Is IAM a new callsign used by the Italian AF?
Never heard it before, seen it appear on Mode S logs the last couple of days and today the first time I heard it (on Athens ATC):

IAM4669 (C-130J MM62190 46 BA) pronounced as "Italian Air Force" by pilot
IAM3112 (A319 MM62209 31 St) pronounced as India Alpha Mike

First two digits seem related to the Wing?

Italian Air Force I-xxxx has been changed to IAMxxxx

IAM is the new three-letter designator approved under ICAO DOC 8585 for It.AF GAT flight

for now it has been identified

IAM14xx 14 Wing Pratica di Mare
IAM31xx 31 Wing Ciampino
IAM46xx 46 B/A Pisa

I-xxxx for It.AF is still in use but probably it will cease

I-xxxx is still in use for AVES / MM / GdiF / GC

Today i heard IAM2168 inbound Ramstein, so this Army P180 still uses last four of the serial, and not the code (know they don't have one ) prefixed by IAM instead of India as previous.

today 4th april i had,MM62244 F9ex calling IAM3172 my 1st.

The KC-767's seem to use their Stormo nr. for the first 2 digits of the IAM callsign, followed by the last 2 digits of their serial.
April 4th: IAM1429 MM62229 and IAM1428 MM62228,
March 31th: IAM1426 MM62226
(serials as shown on mode-s)
