Friday 17 August, ‘100 years Lockheed’ Centennial visit of the Breitling Super Constellation to the Netherlands! Around noontime the iconic Connie will land at Maastricht airport to salute the Dutch aviation enthousiasts.
It’s the first time since ….? a Super Constellation will touch down again in the Netherlands.

The Connie will be on its way to the Photoflying Days at Zoersel.

Whoeps, my mistake

I was actually wondering how long it's really been since a Super Constellation touched down in the Netherlands. The MATS Connie flew in 1998 at the Texel airshow, but was operated from Antwerp, so it could have been 20 years or even more...

Anyone has more information?

MATS Connie wasn't a Super Constellation, but a "normal" Constellation. The last normal Constellation landing in the Netherlands was N749NL (off course).

So how long would it be really ago since a Super Constellation has landed in the Netherlands? I think it would be interesting to find out and certainly a nice aviation story for the media.

I checked my notebook and the Airnieuws May 1975 edition, 06-24/Scramble didnot exist at that time, in fact it was the N11SR March 25th 1975.

Verwacht: veel bizjets deze week!

Deze week wordt in Maastricht weer de TEFAF gehouden, de grote kunstbeurs die altijd veel bezoekers trekt die per bizjet komen. Ook dit jaar is de donderdag de drukste dag met ruim 40 bezoekende vliegtuigen, naast de exemplaren die al een dag eerder aankomen en zijn blijven staan.
