First female Red Arrows pilot taken off flying duties

Post by Thermal »

The first female Red Arrows pilot is taken off flying duties because of stress after the loss of two of her colleagues within 3 months.
RAF decided it was better to post her to a groundjob for atleast 6 months.

As a result the Arrows will fly with 7 aircraft this season since there is not enough time to train a new number 9 and apparently 7 aircraft are better for symmetrical reasons.

So because of this Red 8 (Flight Lieutenant Dave Davies) is also grounded for this season. During flypast however the Arrows will fly with 9 aircraft, including Red 8 and Red 10 (Squadron Leader Martin Higgins)

Very sad news, hope she will recover.

Entire story.
