Caribou's in Afghanistan. Apparantly operated by a civilian outfit.

I hear turboprops.

So no DHC-4 Caribou. DHC-5 Buffalo more likely. But indeed very interesting! :)

Correction, tailplane configuration makes it deffo no Buffalo. It's probably a DHC-4T Turbo Caribou. :oops:

Correct.

DHC-4T Turbo Caribou. A conversion of the DHC-4 Caribou powered by the PWC PT6A-67T turboprop engines designed, test flown and certified by the Pen Turbo Aviation company.

The most probable DHC4T I can think of is 238
Pen delivered Turbo Caribou N238T (cn 238) in September 2011.
It was registered to a holding in Oregon named Aughrim.
By Late september it passed though Europe and was reported as heading to central Asia.
