For our english-speaking audience: MoD press statement mentions that the MLM (Military Aviation Museum) at Soesterberg/Kamp Zeist will be open to the public on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15, from 12.00-16.30 during the annual Museum Days in the Netherlands. As usual, admission is free. At the MLM, free bustickets can be obtained for a bustour on former RNLAF/USAFE Airbase Soesterberg. From past experience: these tickets are in short supply so be early. Also from past experience, the bus usually stops at the hangars at Soesterberg were the latest additions to the collection are kept awaiting the construction of the new museum on site (which, incidentally, may take a while given the financial constraints the Armed Forces are having to deal with).

The F15 and Atlantic are already in a nice position.
The former shelterarea is also part of the tour. Thx to the Klu we also have a nice surprise in this part of the base. An Eagle would have been wonderfull but a F16 is of course a nice surprise!

How about the F-4 and the F-15 in front of the Zulu Hangar? #dare-to-ask

I had several wishes. I could arrange a nice stop at the shelterarea. Soesterberg is part of my work. CNA isn't because it is still a militairy part.

See www.hartvandeheuvelrug.nl Hopefully a picture will be posted there today.

You will be able to visit the same hangar as last times, hangar 7. However this year you'll also be able to have a peek into hangar 9 where the Legermuseum (and also partly the MLM) have their depots. Legermuseum will place a small amount outside, the rest will be inside. Hangar 9 is positioned opposite hangar 7. On the other side of H7 (platform between H7 and H6) the F-15, F-4 Phantom and Brequet are placed outside.

And is it possible to take 'clean' pics of the aircraft outside, without fences, ropes and so on? And when is the sun in your back?

The T-37 is still in pieces in hangar 3 so won't be visible.
Unfortunately no clean shots of the F-4 and F-15 outside, they're surrounded by fences. On the other hand you can come close and walk all around. These planes are facing the sun, the Brequet is on the opposite side.

Nice planes! To bad that there is not a little more space around these airframes...
Maybe the organisation can change it tomorrow...
