Hello
that´s correct, no flying activities during the Spotterday.
This was confirmed today by the Organisation Team from JG 71.
Only static, probably in the Shelterareas.
enclosed we send You some information about the event. We will be awaiting your arrival starting at 13:00 lcl. at the main entrance of Wittmund airbase. There is a parking zone on base.
Please be advised that due to planning and organisation of the event an entrance before 13:00 lcl. will not be permitted.
The airbase is located between the cities of Aurich and Wittmund on the “Bundesstrasse” 210. There will be no flying all day.
We will have most of our active Phantoms on static display. To give you a better opportunity for some outstanding pictures, the Jets will not be fenced in by any means. Therefore you will have to adhere to a minimum distance of one meter!
You will not be allowed to climb on the shelters.
Our personnel are ordered to escort you off the base if any violation of the rules is observed.
Local police will issue and enforce a “no parking” zone around Wittmund Airbase.
The team “Spotter day 2012” wishes you a safe trip and of course the best weather possible.

I had the same message as Slijfie. I can imagine your feelings if you're into action shooting. I am going anyway as Wittmund is actually the closest base to me and I love Phantoms.
Why don't you just chance it and just go to Wittmund on any flying day during any week. Well worth the trip!
Today the confirmation mail has arrived me in order to enter in the air force base of Wittmund. A question: The day after, there will be flights of F-4?

The next day (wednesday) should be a normal day at Wittmund. Now a days on a normal day you can expect two waves of about 5 Phantoms. One wave in the morning and one in the afternoon. With some luck you can also witness some flying of the based A4's.

Me neither, but I guess it's just a matter of how fast you were when registering. They have to check through "proper channels" (intell) if there's anything in your background to stop you from participating. That takes some time... and it's not June, 5 yet!
