NEWS - Summer Schedule 2012

KLM is making several mid-Summer timetable adjustments from 2 July 2012. These include small adjustments in departure times and capacity changes through aircraft swaps between stations.

However it also includes a new 4th frequency to Prague:

from 2 July - dep. AMS 13:15 - arr. PRG 14:45 KL1353 F70 NONSTOP Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
from 2 July - dep. PRG 15:25 - arr. AMS 17:00 KL1354 F70 NONSTOP Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat

This offsets some of the loss of CSA capacity as this airline reduced PRG-AMS-PRG this summer from 4x to 2x daily.

On June 4th LHR has gained a 12th frequency on AMS-LHR-AMS:

from 4 June - dep. AMS 17:35 - arr. LHR 17:50 KL1031 737 NONSTOP Daily
from 4 June - dep. LHR 21:00 - arr. AMS 23:15 KL1032 737 NONSTOP Daily

This new service results in 4x KLM aircraft (2x F70, 1x EMJ, 1x B737) being on ground simultaneously in LHR between 17:50 - 18.25 Mon-Fridays.

China Southern has slightly adjusted its Summer schedules to PEK & CAN.

As reported earlier CZ will commence daily CAN-AMS-CAN flights on 13 June 2012, that same day the existing CAN-PEK-AMS-PEK-CAN service will become PEK-AMS-PEK only, apart from Thursday & Friday when the airline will operate PEK-AMS-PEK-CAN.

However they do create a perfect schedule for business pax (hence why they probably use the 737). Furthermore, doesn't KL habve the same frequency as previous year?? I recall KLM losing 1 daily flight due to DL take over a slot at LHR, now they regained 1 again.

Believe that's what Ton called 'babysitting' for: use DL slots for KL flights, for a limited period of time...

Hence, the long turn-around times for the Fokker 70 flights @ LHR too...

Iberia Express will from 17SEP2012 take over all Iberia operated flights on MAD-AMS. Previously only 2 of 3 daily flights would be operated by IB Express.

Due to the closure of BMIBaby the Dutch airline is increasing AMS-BHX-AMS to 6x daily from 3 September with a new Fokker 70 flight in the evening. In addition the morning Fokker 70 is being replaced by an EMJ to increase capacity:
