Landing KLM MD11/B747 with wingvortex//cloud condensation

Post by Valk10 »

Last Tuesday I started videographing around 5AM. Started at the head of 18R waiting for the KLM MD11.
There was a lot of mist at the runway and a beautifull sunrise.
Normally you see only cloud condensation at pictures taken after takeoff.

But this time I was very lucky to catch it by videographing by touchdown.
Did'nt videograph this ever before.
Did catch the MD11 and B747 with the cloud condensation. Amazing.

Greetings
Thanx for your comment. It was a surprise for me.
Normally no one,at Scramble, gives a comment to my video's . Except when there is a type error in my topic.

There was a period I decided to leave Scramble and did'nt upload my video's anymore.

So I am asking myself what the Scramble-members are thinking about the video's I do make.
Did'nt have any idea about it.

Personally I don't like video's in the photo forum if they are not indicated as such (so that I can skip them).

Probably a lot of people do like to watch video's, but not me. So please keep posting, as long as you mention in the title that it's a video post, and not photo's. If there's enough people posting video's, maybe a seperate (sub)forum would be a nice idea.

Just my 2 cents,
Marcel

Okay, your comment tells me the thougts of ,I guess 99%, the Scramble-members.
I saw the amount of views at Scramble in relation to the views at Youtube.
It did'nt match any way.

You're a diehard Scramble-member. Problaby you talk also for the most members about thinking of aviation video's.

Maybe it's better to keep it at the social media. Social media is the future.

I guess what most people see with their own eyes every day is what you catch on film. So, I think, for most of us a movie doesn't add to the live experience. However, the level of detail that we miss with our own eyes in a live spotting experience, or on film for that matter, is what makes still pictures more interesting to most of us. To be able to sit down and take a while to study all the beautiful details of a photo, or just to enjoy the beauty of a perfectly timed frame can add a lot to the actual experience. Maybe I'm a dreamer, but that's why I think your films don't get too many replies here in the photo forum. :)

Anyway, great spirit, keep up the hobby, always!

It's another way of experiencing planespotting. The details of a photo and at my (and also a lot of others) side the total motion with footages, sound etc etc etc
You did mention it allready, photoforum. Atcbox is all the same, allthough the first couple of years there were a lot of people watching and giving comments.

Recent years I've had a lot on my ass which made me the videographer I am right now.
But also the last year the comments disappeared.

But for me it is'nt a disappointment anymore. Experience shows the social media is the big future. And that also applies to sharing the stuff by all kind of planespotting.
There are a lot of Fb-pages with planespotters ,that's my future too next to the aviaton videochannels.

But I do enjoy watching pics as well!!!

For the people who like to watch my movies ,they can find me at my channel below this page.

Recently we some topics appearing with video material. At this moment we don't have any specific rules regarding posting of video's, we thread them as pictures. The suggestion Marcel make is a good one, just put video in the topic title and it is clear for anyone what to expect.

Regarding Valk his opinion that the majority of the Scramble forum members don't like video's, i don't have any indication this is true nor false. In my opinion there is no reason to not post any video's anymore here. I am sure some people will enjoy, but i am also sure some people will not like it, but that's also the case with pictures ;-)

Regarding the future of social media, with all respect, but social media is more incorporated with the younger people 15-25/30 than the alduts. As the majority of the spotting community is above 30 i don't think social media will within a short time frame make forums like this not usefull anymore.

So keep those movies coming, because i am sure some people do like them, next to that i am sure some people have good ideas how you can improve the quality of your movies! But always state video in your topic title so its clear for everyone what to expect.

PLanespotting is a big word with many ways of interpretation. I do have respect for everyones presentation and perception.
About the social media. It will not wipe out the original spotterssites, but for sharing many people tell and beleive it's the future.
And it will not depend on the age. For example,my age is 42. And a lot of fellow-spotters are older than 30/35 in the groups I do visit.

Because of the less comments I did ask myself if it makes sense to put still energy in it.
So I will share them for the people who like to watch the aviation video's and maybe giving comments.
Comments about the video or to help me improving the quality better and better and better.
So we all can make eachother better or giving inspire.

In future I will show in the topic title it's a video. This time I was forgotten to mention it.

I think you still must upload your video's to the forum.
If someone doesn't like watchin video's instead of pictures than you don't have to watch it.
You really inspire me, keep it up!

Thanx and I will upload them. Though it would be only for you.

You have right,if don't like it don't watch it.
In the mean time I will mention it's video.

When I started planespotting some years ago I did videograph and photograph. Quickly I learned you can better focus at one thing
to improve the skills. But I love to see pics as well. For example the pics of NustyR. Amazing.
