The serial is also painted on the right side of the ejection seat. Readable when a/c is on the ground with canopy open.

Codes could in theory be changed every performance, so they're of little value.

Absolutely agree. The only reason I would like to have them is to have a complete record in my database.

Uhm... can anyone recall (from photos) whether the 2 Austrian Saab 105s arrived as a pair on Friday? I seem to miss BC33 both in writing and photo and now wonder whether they landed as a pair on the Friday.

Nope, I don't think they did. I have RF-26, then the Bulgarian MiG, Jordanian C-130 and some other stuff and then the BC-33. I can recall seeing at least one landing, but from my logs I think we saw both coming in. Also the MiG was seen landing so that one must have been in between. I have not written down any times though, so I cannot make it completely firm.

I have BC-33 at 13:02 (don't known which time zone though) and RF-26 at 13:21. So they seem 19 minutes apart. (based on exif, I recall rf-26 also do a rehersal)

So you are going to skip the complete Prerov log as well? I guess your logbook will become emptier and emptier as both the short and long term memory will start to deteriorate..

Personally I missed BC-33 during landing as well, but that was because I was walking form the spottersday area to the approach due to the bad position in the afternoon of the sun for the spottersarea.

As long as I have any written proof or sensor proof that I saw it, that'll do. So, logs from the past are valid, whether I remember them or not...

Sorry to bring this old thread again up, but as TAI delivered in April the (as they emphasise) first T-38M Ari to the TuAF, with the serial 23729 (and from pictures it looks like 13236 is the second), are we still sure that 38231 was last year also a upgraded example?

It would seem that it was. It had all the mods (externally) that are associated with the update: the two new antennas (on the back and under the nose) and the new ejection seats. Also, onm the static show, it was in the TAI line-up of new or converted aircraft (with the KT-1, the Phantom, the spanking new F-16 etc); this would suggest it was still with TAI at that moment and possibly still is there as test/pattern aircraft. So, 23729 might well be the first delivery but not necessarily the first conversion.

63-8231 is 100% sure a T-38M upgraded version. It has the HUD, new ejection seats, additional antenna's and the glass cockpit. The glass cockpit was very easy to check as you were allowed to look inside (which I did). It was also marketed as the upgraded version with a big sign in front of the airplane.

During a visit at Cigli last week only one T-38M was noted as 38231. 38173 was also noted last year with almost the same colors but it is still a T-38A
