Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).
Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.
Reason is apperently that there is only one cargo conversion kit left ..Moreover parts for MD11 are scarce... It is than more interesting to sell the aircraft as parts. Bottomline the value for parts are higher than the entire aircraft.
Similar happens to relatively young A318 (Frontier 4 years only) , Easy Jet 737-700's etc)
Living on the other side of the Atlantic i am wondering where she will make her final approach , KVCV 'Victorville' is a very likely place , but Tupelo (MS) might also be in the running , wonder who pick this gem up for $ 10 million. Still hope one will be preserved , any takers ?

I am thinking Mojave. A few KLM 74´s ended life there! Although I guess even Phoenix Goodyear is an option. Loads of World MD-11F´s sat there at the moment.
If its Goodyear i am all for it , went there a few days ago and the place is full with ex. World / World Cargo Md-11's and the Omni Dc10's. It looks like we went back in the time with the Dc10's / Md-11's when American and Delta phased them out and put them in storage at GYR. Goodyear has been a place of great interest with many Boeing 737's at one time (United). Only five United 737's left but we got Omni and World in return.
