Since all bombs shown are blue I suppose they didn't cause much of a "splash" when hitting the targets...

Try to catch them Stratofreighter, they will do plenty of damage, even when they are 'only' blue :)

@Hans, you know I like your shots most of the time, but may I place a small remark/opinion?
I know it's not always easy to avoid, but the background in some of your shots makes the shot look chaotic.
As an example, the lights in the 1st shot, the pole and equipment in the 3rd.

Even with the comment, the photos are still very nice to watch, and I hope you keep them coming!

I don't agree... That's how it looks like, and it's the atmosphere (?) of the airbase

Krazy,
Thanks for the compliment. I agree that a cleaner back- or foreground would be preferable but it is not easy to avoid. At the moment it is even harder than usual because of the maintenance on the main runway at Volkel. So the points where you can make a clean shot are very few. And I generally will not use photoshop to remove the distractions. Like Cohaba said it is how the airfield looks. But for your viewing pleasure (and maybe that of others) I made a retouched version of the first one:

This is the good part CoHaBa, we all have different opinions. I don't have the time to go to Volkel at the moment, and don't know how the situation is there.
When I'm looking at the pictures, the mentioned things were distracting me from the subject.
In Hans his (and let me repeat this: always great to watch) pictures I haven't noticed this before.
Maybe Hans missed it, so I gave the small comments. It seems that he did watch the background, but it just isn't possible to take the shots in another way at the moment.

Hans, keep the pictures coming, and do not retouch them for me. Post pictures as you (and only you) see fit, because I do like to look at them :)

With kind regards,

Kr4zy

Very nice shots, Hans. Clear and sharp! Interesting discussion about the distractions. I understand Kr4zy's opinion but I think for the viewers of the forum it is better not to delete them. In that way you have a good idea of what you can expect if you go to the airbase yourself. For example the circumstances because of the maintenance, like Hans mentions. Than you can calculate how much Photoshop effort you have to put into your pictures during the coming cold winter evenings. ;-)

Cheers all, Dick
