Ghana AF Skyvan Antwerp-harbour 10-04-2012

Post by Skunk »

Saw a Ghana Airforce Skyvan on the back of a truck parked in front of the entrance of Kaai 1333.

It had camo colours with Ghana roundel and full Ghana Airforce titels. It missed it's tail and wings for obvious reasons, but did not saw them.
Also could not find a serial number.

Any info on this one?

TIA

SKUNK

This has just been identified by Pieter van 't Hof. The c/n is SH.1929 and the former serial is G452. Funnily enough Wikipedia says this one has been scrapped. Well, obviously not..... ;-)
According to the driver of the truck it is going to Pilzen-Line in the Czech Republic.

Seen this beautiful monster tonight at around 22:30u LT.
Thanks to you both! and to Antheii for waiting for me... ;-)

The truck driver was sleeping I guess because the curtains were closed...

Arno Cornelissen

Hello all,

No information about departuretimes etc.
Stated in early post "According to the driver of the truck it is going to Pilzen-Line in the Czech Republic".

As stated in my early post, we presumed that the truckdriver was sleeping because all the curtains were closed.
No signs that it will leave this evening, but no garantuee!!!

Picture below is taken tonight at around 22:30u-22:45u LT.

I've got the following information:

G452/C SH1929 to OE-FDP 04feb04 deal was cancelled 15feb04 stored Takoradi 14jun08 ex G-BCFH

If you would like to know what happened:
http://web.archive.org/web/200904132101 ... /ghana.htm and
http://web.archive.org/web/200905251156 ... force.com/
Now the Pink Ghana webpage says they are well underway in getting things cleared up. So it wouldn't surprise me that this one will become an Austrian civil para jump plane.

Also see a picture of what it looked like back in 2004:

As can be seen at http://www.pink.at/kontakt.htm
Pink Aviation has a Czech "off-shoot" at Klatovy, and that is in the Plzen region.

Sorry, i can't help you with that. But there's a very big change it already left.
My guess is it left early morning.
There's a change that i have to go to Antwerp again this afternoon, but i think that's too late.

Cheers,

Skunk

Not sure about the actual firm name, but the truck (red c/s) was definitely Czech.

This bird was seen by me and Pieter (yes, a double one for Pieter ...) Letiště Klatovy [LKKT], stored at the firm "Aircraft Service Klatovy" on 13-sep-12. Does somebody know the exact type of this Skyvan ? f.e. Short SC-7 Skyvan 3A-100 ...
