Sweden has 8 Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Much needed in the long country, and the use out of country. The oldest is from 1965 and the newest from 1981. In Afghanistan the newest had retarded use. Smaller reparations had to be done which reduced the operability.
Discussions is ongoing. One possibility is to cooperate with Norway or Denmark in some way.
One new Hercules cost 1 Bilj. swedish crowns. The money is not planned.

Well, seriously... I think that a country with size of Sweden should have it's own transport fleet (and not a shared one)... so in no long distance future, they will need the C-130J or even A-400.
