Vanaf eerste week december tot het ingaan van het zomerschema 2013 zal United op de route Houston–Amsterdam gaan vliegen met de B787-800 ‘Dreamliner’. Op maandag 15 oktober zal, vooruitlopend op de eerste commerciële vlucht, een "testvlucht" en proefafhandeling worden uitgevoerd. Deze "testvlucht" met vluchtnummer UA017 zal om 12:30 aankomen op vliegtuigopstelplaats G03 en dient gedockt te worden met behulp van een marshaller omdat het vliegtuigtype B787 nog niet in het Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) is geprogrammeerd.
Op verzoek van United blijft de machine tot 16:30 op VOP G03 staan om diverse aspecten van de grondafhandeling te testen. Na 16:30 zal de machine gebufferd worden. De vlucht heeft geen passagiers aan boord, alleen crew, technisch personeel, Boeing-personeel en een delegatie van de FAA. De machine zal op dinsdag 16 oktober om 09:00 uur vertrekken vanaf de buffer met vluchtnummer UA018. Het VDGS op de E- en G-pier zal vanaf 5 december 2012 geschikt zijn voor zelfstandige dockingen van de B787-800.

Testhandling B787-800
From the first week of december up to summer schedule 2013 United will fly the B787-800 “Dreamliner” from Houston to Amsterdam. On Monday 15th October, in anticipation of the first commercial flight, a "testflight" and pilot handling is planned. This "testflight" with flight number UA017 will arrive at 12:30h. At stand G03 "she" should be docking using a marshaller because the B787 aircraft type not yet in the Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS). At the request of United the machine will stay at G03 until 16:30h to various aspects of the ground handling tests. After 16:30h the machine will be buffered. The flight has no passengers on board, only crew, technical personnel, Boeing-staff and a delegation from the FAA. The machine will depart on Tuesday 16th October at 09:00h from the buffer with flightnumber UA018. The VDGS on the E and G-pier will be suitable from 5 december 2012 for independent docking of the B787-800.
Die MD11 zal wel van 24 weg gaan gezien de voorspellingen qua wind en het tijdstip + bestemming.
Iemand die een gokje durft te wagen over de 787 en z'n runway?

Gezien de wind zou 27 kunnen, maar goed... ik zie wel eens vreemder baangebruik op SPL.
Scanner gaat hoe dan ook mee, maar mocht de baan al ergens stiekem vast staan... hoor ik (en vele anderen met mij) dat graag!
