524 SOS C-146As,how many are there?

Post by Le Addeur noir »

The Dornier 328,or as it is now known in USAF service the C-146A is now appearing at different locations around the world.

I know of 10 so far, with the following MSNs,

3016
3026
3031
3058
3068
3077
3091
3093
3104
3106

Out of the above,3016,3031 and 3104 are FY11.3068 is FY10.
This type may use fixed callsigns with the following heard recently,

11-3031 Magma 01
10-3068 Magma 30
11-3104 Magma 02

All these airplanes appear to operated by the 524th SOS,27th SOW out of Cannon AFB,New Mexico.

Ref Jeroen's list, I would have thought that Sierra Nevada is / was 'just' the conversion company and NOT the operator other than for test flight after conversion.

Aha, the Dutch connection...
c/n 3060 is (soon to be ex-) OO-ELI (ASL) and prior to that it was PH-SOX (Solidair)

Both 11-3030 and 11-3104 were to be seen at Phnom-Penh Pochentong and Yangon Mingaladon in support of the recent visit of President Obama to South East Asia.

It's not known where these birds live in Asia, but the Philippines(with the Asian based U-28As) seems likely.

R&R visits to Bangkok Don Muang by these airplanes at weekends is not infrequent.

11-3031 has been in Asia since at least June 2012 nad the other one is believed to arrived in Asia in the second half of September.
