(notes: finally time to say good-bye to Friesland and Wittmund airbase after a long weekende there with my family. Due to dense morning fog, I waited for my final trip to Wittmund until I could hear the “Phantoms” in the air – from my hotel. Then, a quic scramble to Ardorf and a just one hour stay allowed me for watching recoveries of four F-4s – including the QRA, two “Skyhawks” and a rare Do.228 from Nordholz. Then it was time to leave my temporary homebase until returning in somewhere in 2013 ...)
