I saw a picture in Scramble a couple of years ago which was taken from a hotel overlooking the above airbase. Can the person who posted it tell me the name of the hotel please (and email me the picture)?

I'm thinking of a visit to coincide with the airshow in October 2013.

That's hotel Soho House. If it still exists, you should find it a coordinates 35°53'34.50"N, 128°38'40.36"E.

It wasn't my picture btw, but I did write most of the article.

The last time I was at that hotel with 3 others,we were thrown off the roof for taking pics after check-out time by a none too impressed manageress,so be careful.

The 4th floor(room 401 specifically) was where we stayed.

Visit the hotel last year. Beautiful modern rooms,
but I don't think you will stay very long on the roof.
We were also kicked off by an angry manageress.
