Il-20 flight over Sea ofJapan

Post by hammarö »

The 27th Dec 2012 a Russian Air Force Il-20 flew over Sea Japan following the same route as the Tu-214 the 17th Dec 2012.

According the Japan web side:
http://www.mod.go.jp/js/Press/press2012 ... 121227.pdf

There is a picture of plane on the web side. No usable signs of the aircraft sides.

Anyone good at Japanese?

Russia still use the Il-20, some of them are updated.

At least two of them are updated with outer signal areas as Tu-214. They are told to be used as flying "missiles".

Russians must be very interested of the sigint build up in area and the new world covered BMD defence.
