Starting 19 January 2013 China Airlines Cargo will re-introduce its 2nd weekly B747F from AMS to TPE:

Finally a breakthrough in the SKYTEAM relationship between KL and KE. Until this week, the airlines did not codeshare on AMS-SEL-AMS, but they did codeshare on very limited European and Asian connections.

Now KE codeshares on KL flights AMS-SEL-AMS on days that KE does not operate itself. While KLM codeshares on all 3x weekly KE flights. So KLM has 10x weekly KL codes and KE has just 7x weekly KE codes between SEL-AMS-SEL.

After closing the route TRN-AMS-TRN, Alitalia is making further changes to its schedule to AMS.

From 20 January 2013 AZ has withdrawn the A319 from the route FLR-AMS-FLR and is replacing the aircraft with the smaller E75. Only on the morning of 20 January will AZ operate with an E90.

Etihad Cargo is increasing the number of weekly flights from 2 to 3 with a new flight operating in/out of AMS on day 5.
From the 1st of February Etihad will switch their ops also from World MD11F and Atlas 747-400F to own B777-200F's on all flights, schedule as below:

Start of B777-200F flights is delayed till February 20 due to delivery issues of the 2nd aircraft.

As we all know UA was planning to commence B787 operations on IAH-AMS-IAH starting in February. Due to the FAA grounding of the B787, this service has now been postponed until 1 March 2013. The B767-400 will continue to operate throughout February.

However, it is a wait and see.....whether the UA B787 will operate at all to/from AMS this winter.

Pakistaan wil airline in Nederland opzetten

De 38-jarige Pakistaanse zakenman Azhar Ahmad wil met een Nederlandse compagnon een luchtvaartmaatschappij in Nederland opzetten. ‘Het wordt heel groot.’
Onder de naam Rafey International Airlines heeft het tweetal deze week de nieuwe luchtvaartmaatschappij ingeschreven in de Haagse Kamer van Koophandel. Daarnaast is er onder Rafey International Investments een holding opgezet die de airline in spe binnenkort moet voorzien van het noodzakelijke kapitaal.

‘We hebben grootse plannen met Nederland en Schiphol’, zegt de zakenman over de telefoon. Hij wil met B747-400-combi’s en B777’s vanaf Schiphol naar onder meer New York, Pakistan, Singapore en Thailand vliegen. ‘Het gaat daarbij om gecombineerde passagiers- en vrachtvluchten.’

De Pakistaanse zakenman zegt voor Nederland te hebben gekozen vanwege ‘de veiligheid, het goede investeringsklimaat, de handelsgeest en de rol van Schiphol als Europese gateway’. Ahmad zegt afkomstig te zijn van een rijke Pakistaanse familie die vooral actief is in de vastgoedsector, transport en handel. ‘Maar het politiek klimaat in ons land is niet goed. Daarom willen wij ons familiekapitaal investeren in Nederland’, onderstreept hij.

AstrologieZijn Nederlandse zakenpartner wil voorlopig anoniem blijven. Hij zegt veertig jaar ervaring te hebben in de Nederlandse luchtvaartsector en 51% van de aandelen te houden in de nieuwe papieren luchtvaartmaatschappij. Omdat hij nog werkzaam is voor een ander luchtvaartbedrijf, wil de luchtvaartveteraan nog niet ‘met naam en toenaam’ in de krant komen. ‘Dat zou niet netjes zijn tegenover mijn huidige werkgever’.

Hij verwacht dat het luchtvaartavontuur van de Pakistaan deze maand nog financieel handen en voeten zal krijgen en hij als mede-eigenaar naar buiten kan treden.

Rafay International Airlines wil op 31 december het luchtruim kiezen vanaf Schiphol omdat het volgens de Pakistaanse zakenman ‘astrologisch’ de beste datum is. ‘Dat geloof moeten we respecteren’, aldus de Nederlandse meerderheidsaandeelhouder.

Nieuwe Nederlandse luchtvaartmaatschappij in de startblokken
14 november 2013De Pakistaanse miljonair en zakenman Ahmad Ahzar wil nog voor het einde van dit jaar een vliegvergunning aanvragen in Den Haag voor zijn nieuwe maatschappij Rafey International Airlines.
Dat zegt de zakenman, die door het slechte politieke en economische klimaat in zijn thuisland Pakistan is uitgeweken naar Nederland, in een exclusief interview met Nieuwsblad Transport.
Als alles meezit met de noodzakelijke vergunningen in Nederland wil hij in het voorjaar met de nieuwe luchtvaartmaatschappij, vernoemd naar zijn zoon Rafey, vluchten beginnen vanaf Schiphol op een groot aantal bestemmingen in de VS en Azië. Verder moet Schiphol de thuisbasis worden van een groot aantal feedervluchten op Europese bestemmingen.
De ambitieuze plannen van Ahzar, telg van een vermogende Pakistaanse familie die hoofdzakelijk in New York en Dubai leeft, liegen er niet om. Zo moet zijn vloot straks vijftien passagiersvliegtuigen tellen, acht B777’s, twee B787-dreamliners en vijf B737’s. Daarnaast heeft hij ook zijn oog laten vallen op enkele B747-400 Combi’s met een grote vrachtcapaciteit. Voor deze laatste vliegtuigen gaat hij binnenkort praten met partijen in Australië.

Ahzar zegt dat de maatschappij op Schiphol straks werk zal bieden aan 300 mensen. Daarbij zijn de piloten en het cabinepersoneel niet meegeteld. Het hoofdkantoor moet net als dat van KLM in Amstelveen komen, zegt hij. Algemeen directeur van de nieuwe maatschappij zal oud-manager Reggie Eysbroek van Pakistan International Airlines worden. De vrachtdivisie zal worden geleid door Fred Gerritse, ooit directeur-eigenaar van de general sales agent VIA op Schiphol.
