BBQ at Polderbaan

Hello all,

two friends and I want to visit Schiphol in spring or summer on a day with wind from south to have a day at the Polderbaan (area where the planes are touching down).

So we are not in the area where Frikandel and Fries can be bought.

Because we will begin at 7 a.m. till 8 p.m. or so, we need to eat something. So my question:

would it be possible there to have a small BBQ?

Only a small BBQ grill with place for 5 steaks or so. Or is it forbidden there?

Hello,

Sometimes there is a "Snackcar" at the official spotting place at the Polderbaan.

Thank you, but the problem is, that we don't want to walk 1,5 km to this official place.

We will sit and take pictures on the walkway very in the north...

The smartest thing to do is to check with local enforcement of a BBQ at that spot is legal.

I don't think starting a fire near a runway in an area full of trees and grass is very advisable, especially during spring or summer. Maybe bring sandwiches in stead? Or a thermos with hot water to make noodles for instance?

You're right. I hoped that you all have maybe seen people there having a BBQ.

But if it is not sure, we don't want to take a risk and we will have some baguettes, sandwiches or cold sausages with us.
