Post by Elmar »

Noted here on Wednesday January 20th 08.00-10.00

EC135T1 HFWS 8252, 8253, 8254, 8256, 8259, 8260, 8263, 8264
CH-53G HFWS? 8450
NH90TTH HFWS 7801, 7809
NH90TTH HSG64? 7925

Note: The CH-53 belongs to HFWS but was flying with GAF8450T. So perhaps it does not belong to the HFWS anymore?

I don't think the CH-53s still belong to the HFWS, because all CH-53s have been transferred to the Luftwaffe (which explains the GAF callsign). For the same reason, all Luftwaffe HSG 64 NH90s will be or were transferred to the HEER, so I guess the one you saw is now in HFWS use..

All CH-53 have been transferred to the German AF the end of 2012/ beginning of 2013. That's why it was flying as GAF8450T!

HSG64

Scramble 403:

A total of 64 CH-53s will be in service with the Luftwaffe in the future. Their unit will be HSG64 (to be disbanded at Holzdorf on 31 December 2012, resurrected at Laupheim on 1 January 2013). The Luftwaffe will operate them in three versions; CH-53GE, CH-53GS and CH-53GA (40 helicopters will be modified to this version, the first of which was officially handed over on 12 September 2012). HSG64 will also be the parent unit for the CH-53s that will come to Holzdorf. There they expect the first of nine CH-53 from HFWS at Bückeburg for training duties before the end of this year. For the time being, also nine CH-53s will continue to operate from Rhein-Bentlage as Abgesetzter Bereich HSG64 (AbgBer HSG64). The NH90s of HSG64 will eventually all be transferred to the army (some still remaining in 2013 though).

Stefan

Bückeburg MIL (ETHB) 15-11-13

Post by TvanD »

The NH90 was towed back into a shelter before i could read it. I might be able to read it from the Photos i took. Does anyone know why these C160s are here?

probably due to problems the Germans are having with the availability of the fire-department at various airbases?
Buchel Tornado's are based at Nörvenich because of that, and Wunstorf also seems to have those problems...

Quite correct. Schleswig also had to close down recently due to the same problem. And I guess other fields will be affectet, too.
