ZG887, ZG888, ZJ914 & ZJ916 were all noted at Yuma (some hangared) on March 16th. Possibly moved straight from Hannover to there.

Looks like the end is near for the 1st regiment?!

The four Lynxes were ferried from Hannover to Yuma onboard Volga-Dnepr An-124 RA-82047 on March 11 for a training exercise.

1st Regiment's future is save, as it will be equipped with the new Westland Wildcat after relocating to Yeovilton in 2015.

Thanks for updating me. I guess the curtain will fall soon at Gütersloh, now only a few Lynxes remain. Do you know which are still present and when the final Lynx will be withdrawn?

Hi Sjoerd,

according to the recently published Regular Army Basing Plan ( https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... g_plan.pdf ), the Army Air Corps will officially vacate Gütersloh in 2015/16 and move to Yeovilton. Hower, flying operations at Gütersloh will most likely cease in late 2013 or early 2014, according to reliable sources within the Army Air Corps.

Due to 1st Regiment's current deployment to Afghanistan and training exercises overseas, there are indeed very few Lynxes left at Gütersloh at the moment. Those are XZ609, XZ184 and ZD277. There may be one or two more, but I'm not sure about that.

So indeed, the future looks bright for 1st Regiment, but unfortunately not for Gütersloh.
