REQ serials W&R Italy (Milan region)

Post by EHAM »

Hi all,

Back again from my holiday in Switzerland/Northern Italy and I have some gaps in my W&R logs. I hope someone can help me to complete them. The unknown regs are marked bold.
First question is about the Oasi farm in Cassano Magnago. The following is preserved outside:
MM6595/3-36 F-104G Starfighter Italian AF
MM61911/SP-36 Piaggio P.166M Italian AF
MM.....Fiat G.91Y Frecce Tricolori

Also on the Oasi farm there's a shed with these aircraft stored inside. Serials are removed but I managed to find two of them on the web.
….. SIAI S-211
MM53665/RR-66 T-6G Italian AF
MM80382/EI-228 Bell 204B Italian AF
picture of the shed

The second question is about the Volandia Museum at Malpensa Airport (village of Case Nuove). Some helicopters are abandoned in a corner:
6217 type unknown
MM901/EI-901 Agusta A129 Italian Army
MM.....Agusta A129 Italian Army
..... Agusta A139
I-SMTE SIAI S-211 JPATS

Thanks in advance for the help :) !

hi,

The S.211 is the outdoor storage of Museo Volandia, is probably S.211 I-SMTE.
It was reported earlier with the museum since Feb 2008, first in storage at Sesto Calende, in one of the old Siai Marchetti plants.

A big question is the identity of the dismantled SF.260 in the shipping crate, on the right hand side of the row.

I have no answer for the S.211 in the farm shed, might be I-SMTF ?? Or an uncompleted airframe or test rig.
May be one of our italians friends is able to check its identity, and have a close inspection of the airframe.
Some company demonstrators are still unaccounted for.

I visit this place 21mar13.

New here is another S.211 marked I-SIJF (with blue tail). Note there is another I-SIJF reported at the Volandia
collection. Also new is an unmarked AB.212, with a tail boom of AB.205 EI-304.

6217 is a YH-12B (Bell 48) of the USArmy 46-0217.
The red helicopter with broken tail is an Agusta A.102 prototype (also based on the Bell 48).
I am quit sure this is MM573 (I-AGUT).
see: http://www.helis.com/timeline/agusta.php
Both the A.129's and the AW139 are mock-up's.
There is also a crated SF260. Id still unknown.
