REQ: Letnany museum depot

Post by erik_kamphuis »

Hello,

Next week I will be in the Czech Republic and visit Kbely museum and Letnany across the street. I read that 7 MiG-21s should be stored outside the old Aero hangars.
Can anyone help me with the exact location? Is this on the south side or north side of Letnany airfield.
Can you get close to them?

I will post a log when I am back.

TIA,
Erik

Hi Erik,

I was there on 21st of March, it is really easy to see all the planes. Most of them are parked outside in a row behind a hangar and a building. Between the hangar and the building is an open spot where you can see all the planes on your left and right.

This is what I saw:
MIG-21PF 0302 STORED
MIG-21F-13 0304 STORED inside hangar
MIG-21US 0948 STORED
MIG-21F-13 1013 STORED
MIG-21MF-75 2410 STORED
MIG-21UM 3181 STORED
MIG-21PFM 4609 STORED
MIG-21U-600 4916 STORED
MIG-23BN 5735 STORED
SU-7UM 1017 STORED
L-29RS 2818 STORED inside hangar
L-39C 0115 DUMPED FUSELAGE ONLY
L-39C 0441 DUMPED FUSELAGE ONLY
L-159 .. DUMPED TESTBED, STRIPPED FROM METAL PLATES

The planes in the hangar can be seen through the windows.

Kind regards and good luck.

Regards Hilco
