KHARTOUM, Sudan — A Sudanese military spokesman says a military training helicopter has crashed in the country's south, killing its two crew members.
Col. Sawarmy Khalid was quoted on Thursday by SUNA, Sudan's official news agency, as saying that the crash was an accident.
Khalid says the helicopter hit a high voltage electricity pole in Damzain in southeastern Sudan. Damzain is the capital of Blue Nile state. No further details were available.
The government in Khartoum has been facing an insurgency in the Blue Nile state and has accused its southern neighbor, South Sudan, of helping rebels there.
