A Bangladesh Army helicopter crashed during an emergency landing injuring two military officials in Dhamrai area on Wednesday morning. The crash was blamed on possible technical snag.However, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the helicopter did not crash but made an emergency landing.

Dhaka Additional Police Superintendent Faroque Hossain said the chopper crashed in Bardail area around 9:55am.Injured Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Bari was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital where he was undergoing a surgery, Hossain said.

Major Nazrul Islam flying with him got off with first aid.Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Rakibuddin Khan based at Savar Cantonment told journalists that the two army officials took off from Tejgaon Airport on a training sortie in the helicopter around 8:15am.

“They tried an emergency landing after the helicopter developed snags, lost balance and crashed.”

ISPR Assistant Director Rezaul Karim told bdnews24.com that one of the pilot was injured during emergency landing. “The other is fine.”

Witness Ibrahim Molla told bdnews24.com that he saw the helicopter heading towards his house. “I quickly got out from my house and stood at a safe distance. The chopper crashed near my house.

Well, if it made an emergency landing in stead of crashing I think you can safely say it crashed upon landing!
Looks like a Bell 206?
