Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.

aircraft museum Sunderland UK

Post by atla »

The Aircraft Museum in Sunderland UK is... surprising...
You find it at the entrance of the Nissan factory. It can be easily reached by bus from Newcastle.

This is one of the first items you see when you follow the big signs "aircraft museum"

After paying 5 pounds entrance, walk around, get amazed, talk with volunteers and leave with a

The museum will expand in the next two-three years. As the neighbour transport museum closed due to financial reasons, the aircraft museum offert to store their collection.
That caused an impressive storage problem, making the museum looking... special :?
A volunteer told that the nearby meadow will become part of the museum.
Then there will be space for more buildings and it will be possible to re-organize the collection in special transport, military vehicles and aircraft departments.
Meanwhile they continue to restore the aircraft. And they do that very well as you can see.
