Amsterdam visit advice

Hi,

Mods sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm due to visit Amsterdam in a couple weeks. Arriving Friday morning out Sunday, and staying near Hoofdorp.

Does anyone know where the best place would be to hire bikes - either at the Terminal or nearby - so that I can explore the various spotting locations.

Hi Niall,

Unless your hotel has bikes, Schiphol and Hoofddorp railway stations seem to be the only places around where you can rent a bike, through the 'OV-fiets' system. I'm not sure how straightforward that is once you've gotten yourself a public transport chip card.

Bike shops usually sell secondhand bikes, I don't know if they could be tempted to take them back for a reaonable price after a few days.

At least it is something to work off. I think our hotel has bikes for hire.
