Nope, just on the intake.

Event turns out very interesting and accessible!
Yep, very much accesible. In the afternoon they even drop our group off at the other side of the runway (near the shelterarea). Ik like Korea! Did not expect that.

small Eeast Asia trip (Pics) Cheongju last day

Post by stipjes »

Today was my last (and best) day at Cheongju. I requested via a pilot if the Phantom pilots could open their canopy's, and they did (after the pilot made a phonecall to the sqn....)

This years show was really worth it for me!

Hey Patrick,

small East Asia trip (photo): Taiwan day 1 (Mirages)

Jep Hans, until now that is the Highlight. I am also hoping for a Tracker here in Taiwan but I did not have time to wait for it for hours at PingTung (if it was flying at all)..... May-be one at Hualien?

Tonight is the first night since saturday that I see a bed. I slept in the plane to Taiwan a littlebit and after that in the car. The reason is all the W&R here. Until one or two in the night I was busy chasing them. I set a new record for myself last monday, 19 locations in a day (sorry brothers D from B, after all the effort we did in the US ;-)).
There are preserved a/c at mostly shrines everywhere! That it are mostly Starfighter and F-5E's makes it all the better.

Here are the operational results of last monday (I only did some levelling and cropping). AT Hsinchu the Mirages were very active, in 2,5 hours I saw almost 20 flying. In the evening after to many W&R on the way some F-CK-1's came in.

Well done on the Mirages and the Ching Kuos, Stip! One heck of a place to be, Taiwan! I've been there in 2000 myself.
You are writing "I" and "me". Does that mean that you shook off Frans 8)

Yes Hans, I am all alone again! They left me ;-).

Last tuesday I visited 3 airfield. Taichung with the F-CK-1's, Chiayi with the F-16's and at the end of the day the Air Force Academy in Gangshang. Inbetween I did to many W&R.....
While photoshopping an hour ago I witnessed a 6,6 earthquake..... What a feeling that is.... But nothing serious happened, the Air Base of Hualien (on the other side of my window) is still sleeping.

East Asia trip (photo): Taiwan day 4 (Taitung F-5 heaven!)

Post by stipjes »

dinovandoorn wrote:not to bad till now i would say! lucky you.
Haha, and we continue ;-).
Yesterday the 31st was the best day of this trip. It felt like I was back in the 80's! Flying started at 6.45, F-5 everywhere and the colours were great. These pictures are taken in 2,5 hours time and I logged about 30 F-5's.
After this event I went to Hualien were there was no flying, but it picked up today (Friday) :-).
I didn't put pics of the 29th because I visited the museum, photographed more T-34's and spotted (no photography) at Guiren en Pingtung. Missed a Hawkeye at Pingtung because I got bored and decided to do a drive around.... Never do that :-(!
No Tracker yet btw but I am very happy with my catch this week anyhow.

Great shots patrick!!!!
Really a nice place is Taitung, I hope you get some action at Hualien. That place is even better!

Can you confirm the first camo F-5 as 5418? There are only 2 birds flying in that colors (one E and one F) and I saw both, but could only read 5272.

Don't forget the "friettent" at Hualien where I told you about :D :D
