A small plane crashed less than a mile from the tower at Nashville International airport,but was not discovered until about 7 hours later.Both the Ntsb and Faa are conducting an investigation,including radar and air traffic control tapes.It was very early in the morning and it was foggy with very low visibility,the pilot was from Canada and the lone occupant of the Cessna 172R.He was certified VFR only.
