MiG-21UM serial 340, Mozambique AF
It wasn't a Lancer.
The Mozambicans brought 2 L-39 and 8 MiG-21 bis/UM for overhaul at Aerostar.
Their cadets are also being trained at Boboc and Bacau since winter 2012

Thanks for clarifying this, 'Zapacitu'.
Can you maybe tell us if all 2 L39s and (8-1 = ) 7 MiG21s are still at Bacau at Aerostar, or are these/some being used at Boboc and Bacua for training?

Any idea when these may return to Mocambique?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback.

Are the serials known of the other Mozambique aircraft that are currently at Aerostar?

Sorry, I made a mistake, they broughy only one L-39ZO serial 254 (origin unknown) and 8 MiGs (probably 2 UM and 6 bis)
Their pilots learned to fly on Aerostar Festival light planes (company owned) at Boboc and on their overhauled L-39 at Bacau. This was spotted only in natural metal overall, with Romanian roundels and no serial.

They bought two new Aerostar Festival, which are reportedly crated awaiting delivery to Mozambique.

The only MiG spotted so far is reportedly UM serial 320, seen during engine testing with no tail on, no serial or markings visible:

The Il-76 seen lower on the page linked above came at Bacau to "transport" one L-39 and one MiG - the source didn't mention wether it was bringing additional airframes for overhaul or taking the ones already overhauled to Mozambique.

The whole deal is surrounded in secrecy.

Apart from the new comms antenna (the large one behind the front landing gear), also notice new IFF antennas (small, grey, on top of the tail and under the intake)
