The interview has been held long after Vaneker left the Air Force. At that time, he was simply a member of the public. I would imagine that an investigation would start with an official request to the Dutch Airforce to cooperate. The guy was there for work. And if the RNLAF is willing to coorperate he would not be on his own and you would also expect that an interview would happen at an embassy or a building of the MOD. Not saying that he is quilty as I don't know the details but I still think it is a weird story.
