Noted on static display were:
mm81493/2-14 EH101
mm81719/2-22 EH101
mm81581/3-05 NH90-NFH
mm81376/7-66 AB212ASW (appeared fully operational)
mm81378/7-68 AB212ASW
mm81473/9-05 AB412HP

parked in main hangars were
mm81481/2-02 EH101
mm81487[/2-08 EH101
mm80942/7-10 AB212ASW (appeared operational)

stored near one of the green hangars was
mm5009N/6-07 SH-3D (no rotors)

on display in a converted small hanger(?) was an A106 coded 5-01

At the main gate were preserved
mm80366/3-05 AB204ASW spec 50 years c/s
mm81076/7-31 AB212ASW spec 50 years c/s
an unmarked SH-3D also in spec 50 years and 3 Gruppo Elicotteri c/s

While this is the centennial of Italian Naval Aviation folks were also celebrating 50 years of Maristaeli Catania.
The green temporary (?) hangars were not inspected.

I left at about 1 pm when the rain started to move in. No idea if there were any flying displays afterwards.

Not sure why you have marked a couple of AB212ASW as "appeared fully operational" such as MM81376/7-66. I can certainly confirm it was active in September as were quite a few others. I flew in MM81376 during that month and also photographed a few other active 212's that month at Grottaglie.

Mike, the reason was both were marked as 'stored' in the Scramble DB. As said, these didn't appear to be in storage.

Guess I missed the report from your September outing there :-)

Ah ok. Didn't post a log from my trip, but just wondered why you had written that. No problems!
