The first of two Boeing C-17 Globemasters destined for the Kuwait Air Force has emerged from the company’s Long Beach assembly line.

FINALLY .....a military C-17 in some better colors than all that grey.

Some people will probably think it looks "too civil"

The white colour does wonders for keeping the interior of this C-17 cool in hot climates, though....

The Aviationweek weblink also states the C-17 production line will close in 2015.
Is this a permanent closure ?

Yes it will permanently. Boeing will stop producing these birds in 2015 and hand over all fabrication tools, drawings, rights etc to the USAF if there will be a need for a re-launch in the future. That will mean that the USAF will produce new C-17's in-house.

The L-100 of them have the same colors
