Here is a quick and dirty log from my notebook of what could be seen at Don Muang Childrens Day on Friday 10th of January. Last year no foreigners were allowed on base on the Friday due to some over-adventurous spotters at Korat, but this year it was pretty relaxed again.

F-5E 91703/21130 is confirmed in static at the childrens day.
So the F-5E pres. at the Diamond Formation at the RTAF Academy is not Kh.18Kh-30/24 ex 91703/21130.

From the F-86F and F-5A is the left side the real i/d - the F-5E painted on the left side as 61665 ex 76-1665 and this is Kh.18Kh-02/21 c/n R.1339, crashed on 18-Jan-06, repaired and noted 2009 (dont know aktiv or only on the ground?)
It´s only a theroie.

F-5E Kh.18Kh-02/21 61665 is still active as 21112 at 211 Sqn. Was active at Wing 21's 2013 Children's Day airshow on Jan 12, 2013. Also active on that day was F-5E Kh.18Kh-9/21 61672 as 21109. Both were sporting the old Blue camo from their days at 701 Sqn.

It´s only a theory.
Kh18Kh-2/21 (this should not be '02/21) went off the end of the runway at U-Tapao RTNS in the January 2006 incident. So the airframe was relatively intact.

Code 21130 was seen flying in 2013.

1. The F-5E taxiing in. Where to find the Thai serial on it?!

Image

2. The L-39 taxiing in, with the Thai serial clearly visible... what are those mission marks below the serial for???

Erik,
Thanks for the photos.
The F-5 serial is in roughly the same place as that on the L-39 (below the red danger marking). I can't make out what it says.
40109 is confirmed as 1-17/37.
