Footage from January 15th 2014 of an F-15E Strike Eagle on take off from RAF Lakenheath, UK. The footage shows a dramatic compressor stall/surge at normal speed, 30% original and 5% original.

The event itself only lasts around 0.2 seconds, the pilots reaction is fast and decisive as they power down both engines and apply full rudder deflection to compensate for the yaw induced by failure of the right engine.

Given the fact that both engines are positioned (very) close to the aircraft's longitudinal axis, I don't expect the yaw momentum to be very large...
Secondly, at a speed that low the effect of a rudder is very small.

True. But I think the pilot is pressing the left pedal to steer with the nose wheel, and that makes the rudder deflect.
But hey, I'm only a Flightsim-pilot
