DHAKA, BANGLADESH: Final preparations were under way Wednesday in Dhaka as the last McDonnell Douglas DC-10 passenger readies for its retirement tour. Workers were busily cleaning the airplane inside and out, replacing arms rests, and scrubbing the carpets.

The airplane, operated by Biman Bangladesh, is set to depart for its retirement tour on Thursday morning. It will fly to Birmingham UK, via Kuwait City, after which it will offer several one-hour scenic tours before being ferried to an unknown museum in the United States.

I once took a flight with a Biman Bahini DC-10 from Bangkok to Singapore. The smell of unwashed people was horrible, the luggage they took with them in the cabin was more than a >70.000 DWT bulk carrier could carry. But as a Dutch I shouldn't complain because it was a cheap flight

ik begreep van iemand die een van de laatste vluchten vanaf Birmingham heeft meegemaakt,
dat de kist uiteindelijk is teruggevlogen naar Dhaka om aldaar gesloopt te worden
vanwege het "ontbreken van enig papierwerk" t.b.v. de oversteek naar de States...
dus geen museumkist naar Seattle!
