Aeroflot IL-96 retirement, PHOTOS of last passenger landing.

Post by Stratofreighter »

Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) is considering fast-tracking the retirement of its fleet of six Il-96s in the wake of the recent Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan Int'l) crash at Kazan Int'l.

While no precise law has been yet been passed, the Il-96s woes were further compounded by reports of soaring maintenance and fuel costs.

The board also found that 40% of all Aeroflot's complaints via social media pertain to the interior of the Il-96.

Get on board the IL-96 before it's too late, but it's still possible from Oslo to Istanbul including the SSJ Superjet for a reasonable price.

This is the last month (march) to see Aeroflot operating the Il-96. According the aeroflot website timetable last scheduled flight is to Istanbul saturday the 29th, after that they likely will be stored.
