Russian ORBAT still missing and no answers

Post by Azov »

So back in March I posted a thread about how over the past year I've received non-answers, dodges, and have been ignored as to what is going on with the Russian ORBAT. In that thread I wanted to know what was going on and got another non-answer. Here we are two months later and still no Russian ORBAT. Whoever is in charge of that ORBAT needs to be replaced and someone more capable put in place to get it back online. That ORBAT is one of the most crucial ones on scramble. I think Scramble.nl is losing its credibility as a go-to aviation site if it can't even manage its own databases.

Bring back the Russian ORBAT.

I do. Tremendously. I think scramble has the best content for air forces hands down. But this has been going on for a year and I can't get a single reason or answer out of anyone. Respect goes both ways and I haven't gotten mine.

Have to admit I agree with Azov; there was a 'new' orbat published in the magazine a couple of years ago. And the editor in question (don't know if it's still the same?) agreed several times it would be published online too.....

Yeah I purchased that one and have it. But it's not current any longer.

Why don't YOU publish your updates if you know it is not current any more...

Obviously Scramble has a reason that it is no longer on line. Respect that.

Azov,

I am responsible for the Russian Orbat. It was also me who published the printed version a few years back.

Already a lot of work was done to put this orbat online, but it is very very much work. Because of all the changes (third time again!) in the unit names, this orbat from 2 years ago is indeed no longer current. Today still a lot of questions remain and to find info about units in russian language is not very easy...

So if you have a current orbat that is good enough, please share.

Once I have researched a good enough orbat again, and if time prevails, the orbat will be published online. Do not expect this the comming months!

Well I appreciate some insight into what's happening.

I don't have a current ORBAT, no. I am aware of changes at certain airbases here and there, particularly with the arrival of new aircraft into service like the Su-34. I know enough has changed with Russia reorganizing things constantly that info is difficult to keep current.

But please keep us posted on what's going on!!!!
