The Bundesrepublik is not the 51st US state, and the Americans have no power on the outside of the base. You should have not moved unless directed to do so by the German authorities.

We did not want to cause trouble for the MP or for future visits of other spotters. The MP was actually quite friendly and kindly asked us to move. They also informed the Polizei who checked out the situation 30 mins later.
