Hi,

Spangdahlem on Friday 30-5, last chance to see the Idaho A-10's.

Did see: flying A-10's, all seven!
Didn't see: a lot of sunshine, let alone at the right moments...

Morning A-10 waves:
Skull 11: 81-0955/ID
Skull 12: 78-0653/ID
Skull 21: 78-0625/ID
Skull 22: 78-0634/ID
Skull 31: 78-0707/ID
Skull 32: 79-0084/ID

First F-16 wave:
90-0813/SP
90-0833/SP
91-0342/SP
91-0481/SP
91-0344/SP
91-0417/SP

Second F-16 wave:
96-0080/SP
96-0083/SP
90-0829/SP/52OG
91-0343/SP

Afternoon A-10 waves:
Skull 41: 81-0955/ID
Skull 42: 80-0218/ID
Skull 51: 78-0625/ID
Skull 52: 78-0634/ID
Skull 61: 78-0707/ID
Skull 62: 79-0084/ID

AMC ramp:
C-17A 09-9205 437AMW, departed as RCH 150
C-17A 10-0213 437AMW
C-17A 04-4131 305AMW
C-17A 04-4135 437AMW, arrival as RCH 510

Overshoot (opposite direction):
C-130J-30 08-5712 317AG (tdy Ramstein), HKY 05

Morning departure end: dark, damp and wet. "Skull 11" was the only one to stay low:

Recovery: still no sunshine...

Image

First afternoon recoveries: same story...

The one time the sun actually did shine, it was exactly tail-on...

Still, very happy to have seen all seven A-10's, something I had already given up hope for!

Cheers,
Marco
