Is there anyone who has some experience with a "piknik" at Swidwin?
I'm very curious how the photo oportunities/ conditions are and how many aircraft I can expect to photograph?
Are there still "normal" operational flights on the friday before the piknik or do the have a special flying schedule during this day with less activities?Hope that anyone can help.
Greetings Ralph
Is this event open for the general public, or is it some kind like a family day? Also would be interested in, if there's someone out there who had experiences with that kind of event, especially at Swidwin, off course (like Ralph)
Thx in advance
"Picnics" in Poland are open for everybody but are small events like a familiy day.
There are about two/three aircraft of the base on display, plus a few visitors.
Last year there were a Mi-24, a MiG-29, two preserved aircraft (Lim-2 and a Su-22), a W-3 and a Mi-2.
Visitors were two M-28, a C.295 and a Mi-8.
Flying was the Su-22 team, a second MiG-29 and a W-3. Later in the day also a civil Mi-17 and some civil stuff.
At Swidwin you're shooting against the sun all day.
The static has only a few aircraft fenced in, afaIr, only the weapons show of the Su-22 had fences last year.
If everything shows up as posted by Stefan and bunt, it is a show above the normal average.
@kmarrie - the Su's are flying a rough average of three days a week - and I don't dare any announcement, on which day that might be.
It is (at least to me) totally unpredictable.
