Last week a short visite to thé Mojave air and space port, allowed me to'see a strange display or wounded birds. Thé large parking ils still there, full of 747: AirAtlas..ans also DC 10 ans also dozens of engineless DC 9. I was delighted to sée that a 737 200 of Aloa Airlines was still présent in its beautiful orange ans yellow paintings. Same things for the two F 100 of flight systems. Along some or thé hangars stood a TriStar, named stargazer, test bed or équivalent of our Novespace A 300? based in Bordeaux Mérignac.
Aside this big bord stood a Saab Draken iln dark green paintings, obviously with'a reco nose.
Not very far stayed half a dozen or MB 326 (ex SAF?) In various conditions. An close to thèm a dismantled but nearly complete DH Devon with the marking of flight systems.
On a kind of a gateway are displayed what I identified as a Convair Coronado ans a former BAe system F 4 Phantom. Both of them in very'poor condition under thé burning sun, and thé gusty winds.
As a conclusion a rather strange feeling after thïs quick visite, the glory gone four these beautiful'birds, a gloomy and very uncertain future for most of them.
How many will survive?
Rust never sleeps, my m'y hey hey...
