LOG Dutch W&R (small) 26-7

Post by patrick dirksen »

Hi all,

A short afternoon trip, to catch two long needed airframes. Because of the "Museum Night" and the 25 years birthday of the museum at Deelen, a bus tour over the base and adjoining barracks was offered. And in those barracks, one of those long needed airframes is living.

Museum Vliegbasis Deelen

NX537/G Auster AOP.3 pr
(MJ874) Spitfire LF.IXe pr, front fuselage

We had been here before, but since the bus tour would start from the museum premises, we took a quick look inside again.

Oranjekazerne, Schaarsbergen

"P-7" RF-84F pr, 306 sq mks, real id FR31

This should be visible from outside, but only just then. It is preserved on a pole, but isn't in a really good condition unfortunately. Well, either way, we can finally tick this one off :-)
And since we would pass Apeldoorn on the way back anyway, we decided to give the park there another try (after failing last year).

Julianatoren Apeldoorn

(214) TS-11bis B pr, fantasy c/s

Here we were lucky. The park had already closed, but there was still some staff around, including the owner. And after explaing who we were and what we wanted, a quick walk to the Iskra for some photo's was no problem at all. According to the owner, about five times a year people show up to take some pictures. ...

All in all a well spent afternoon! :-)

That's all folks!

Didn't see it this visit (we were short in time), but indeed last year we did see that as well. Not big enough to "count" but indeed very interesting!
