NATO-led forces plane makes hard landing in west Afghanistan
HERAT, Afghanistan, July 22 (Xinhua) -- A transport plane of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) made a hard landing in Herat airport in west Afghanistan on Tuesday but caused no loss of life, police said.
"The plane, apparently C-130 transport aircraft of the ISAF forces made hard landing at Herat airport at 01:00 p.m. local time, which damaged the runway and the plane was also partially damaged, " police chief of the Herat airport, Sayed Sharif Sadat told Xinhua.
Following the incident, all the flights from Herat airport has been suspended, Sadat said.
However, he added that the ISAF authorities had promised to repair the runway and the flights would be resumed on Wednesday.
