Unknown aircraft at Vodice, Slovenia

Hi all,

When on my way to Ljubljana I saw this aircraft at Repnje 29 near Vodice, close to exit 11 of highway A2/E61.
I can't find any info on this one on the internet. Anyone more info???

Looks like an old model Mooney to me. If it has a fixed gear (instead of a retractable one) it's probably a M20D.

Looks a bit like a Socata ST-10 to me?

Interesting suggestion, but I beg to differ. The Socata's tail is higher and not tilted forward, it has a fillet at the bottom of the rear fuselage and finally it has a wing with a slight crank in it which this one does not appear to have.

I agree on the SIAI S.205/208. Good find! Theoretically, this might have been an Italian AF S.208M, but the odds are that it is a civil S.205: there were 620 built of those and only 120 S.208's, of which a mere 45 were military ones (S208M), of which quite a few had an extra, smaller side window.

So this is a S.205.

S.208 is a development of the S.205. The easiest way to tell the difference is that the S.208 has a retractable undercarriage and the S205 has not.
So this is a S.205.

Once again, I beg to differ (in part: I DO believe you are right in that this is a 205). However, the S.205 was built in two versions: the F version with fixed undercarriage and the R-version with -not surprisingly- a retractable undercarriage. Also, the first 4 aircraft delivered to the Italian AF were in fact 205's; I can't tell whether they were F's or R's, but they were later modified into S.208's. The civil S208 was basically the bigger version of the S205 with a bigger engine. The Italian AF acquired 45 S208M's. The main modifications to make a 208M out of a 205 or a 208 were the addition of a second entry door, new avionics and the provision for installing a hook to tow gliders.

But the 4 you mention that theoretically could be this one (MM61934 - MM61937) are still in service, so unlikely to be on this pole.

As I said, the ods were firmly stacked against it being ex-mil.. too bad for Rob and the other military wrecks and relics buffs, but still a nice catch. Would like to know her story though...

It is for sure a Siai Marchetti S.205 with retractable landing gear, because of landing door on main landing gear.
This model came with 3 engine versions, 180, 200 and 220 hp.
No S.205 or S.208 was on the Slovenian Register or on other former Yugoslavie countries...

Another unknown S.205 to identify.
Please some more photo's if possible.
