Greenland Express (Aalborg) has temporarily suspended operations with immediate effect.

Denmark's check-in.dk aviation portal states the decision to suspend flights will allow the carrier time to find a new investor and a new aircraft - possibly an A320-200, capable of operating flights from Denmark to Greenland non-stop.

CEO Gert Brask said the stop in Reykjavik Keflavik on flights between Copenhagen Kastrup and Kangerlussuaq in Greenland had resulted in additional unforeseen costs being incurred.

The downtime would allow the airline to not only source new funding, but also revamp its booking engine and website Brask said.

Until now, Greenland Express had used a Fokker 100 sourced from Dutch operator,
Denim Air ACMI (J7, Amsterdam), to operate the flights.
